Recently, Google Drive has updated its policy. In which we have received the new claim that the WhatsApp Backup will no longer count against the Google Drive storage quota so that every user can avail their complete Google Drive storage space.

According to Google Drive and WhatsApp, if any WhatsApp backup has not been updated in more than a year, your backup will automatically be removed from your Google drive storage.

So, if you don’t want to lose any of your backups, it will be best to manually back up your WhatsApp data before November 12, 2018. By doing this, you can easily back up all your WhatsApp data.

What to do for Now?

Here, below we have mentioned what things you can do for now:

  • First of all, Make sure that your current Android WhatsApp is backed up successfully.
  • If you want to refresh any of your existing backups, then it will be best for you to back up your WhatsApp before October 30, 2018, manually.

According to the report, this new Google drive policy will go into effect for all users from November 12, 2018, and some users may see the quota benefits earlier, so make sure that you have backed up your WhatsApp manually.
