We have recently reviewed Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 smartphone on our YouTube channel here. We have found that this device has so many features and the Fingerprint sensor is one of the best features in that device. Here in this article, we will talk about enabling a Fingerprint scanner on the Redmi Note 4. So you can lock apps and your device and unlock it easily with a touch of your fingers. So without wasting much time, let’s talk about a tutorial on how to activate the Fingerprint scanner on a Redmi Note 4 device.

Enable Fingerprint Scanner on Redmi Note 4

Step 1: First of all go to the settings of your device.

Step 2: Tap on “Lockscreen & password” & select “Screen lock & Fingerprint

Step 3: You will need to set up your backup password, pattern, or PIN in this step so that you can unlock using that backup option if your device fails to unlock with your fingerprint.

Step 4: You will be asked to register your fingerprint by placing your finger on the scanner located at the back side of the device. Put and raise your finger several times for a successful registration message.

This process will collect different parts of your finger so that it can easily unlock when specific lines in your fingerprint are found when you touch it. Once it is done, you will see the screen where you can name your fingerprint. E.g. Left hand front finger, or something like that. By default, it will be fingerprint1, fingerprint2 etc, and so on. You can add up to 10 fingers to unlock your Redmi Note 4 smartphone.

We have also created a video on how you can easily set up a fingerprint scanner on your Redmi Note 4 device. You can check that video on our channel as well as from below.
