Step 1: Open Messenger app on your Android smartphone
Step 2: After this, Select and open the conversation that you want to delete
Step 3: Tap on Info icon on the top right side of the screen
Step 4: Now, press the three-dotted menu button
Step 5: Finally Tap on the “Delete Conversation” option

Step 1: Open Messenger app on your Android smartphone
Step 2: After this, Select the conversation that you want to delete
Step 3: Then, long press on the photo or conversation
Step 4: Here, you have to choose the Delete option to delete the entire conversation
Note: Once you delete the entire conversation from a messenger of Facebook, then you cannot retrieve it again on Messenger.

Strange issue. Never heard anything like that before. Have you tried logging out and login again? Maybe you FB has put restriction on your profile. Try and let us know.
