This is no surprise that Xiaomi’s Redmi brand is cooking up a new blockbuster which should hit the markets soon. Its been only a week since Redmi revealed that it will be releasing a fully-spec’d smartphone line, the Redmi K20 series, soon. Redmi hasn’t been putting much attention to secrecy since the company’s manager was the one to reveal the device’s AnTuTu score -which were quite impressive – and dub the smartphone “Demon King”. It was revealed that the series will contain a K20 and a Redmi K20 Pro.
A few days ago, the company’s official Weibo account also posted a dozen of images related to the phone’s accessories. Those images played a key role in guessing a number of key specifications of the device. For instance, the case didn’t have any cutout or a fingerprint scanner on the back or the sides. This led us to believe that the K20 will come with an in-display fingerprint scanner. To achieve that, we knew that Redmi will have to use OLED display panels.
Now, a new document has surfaced on Twitter which shares a lot of key specifications of the K20. The Redmi K20 series is being called the Flagship Killer 2.0 which will compete with OnePlus 7 Pro in the Indian Market. Key specs of the device include a 6.39” OLED display panel with display resolutions above 1080p. The display will have an aspect ratio of 19.5:9.

It is also rumored that the k20 will come with a popup-style selfie camera. The camera itself is expected to be a 20MP snapper with f/2.0 aperture. The main cameras at the rear of the device have also been listed in the leak. The primary camera at the back will be a 48 MP snapper with f/1.7 aperture while a 13 MP f/2.4 and an 8 MP f/2.4 sensor will be further enhancing the already-great image quality of the main sensor. We expect the other sensors are ultra-wide and telephoto cameras.
The Redmi K20 series’ base version smartphone is going to be powered by a 4,000 mAh battery. The battery is capable of being fast-charged at a charging rate of 27 watts. The K20 will obviously be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset with an Adreno 640 coupled with it. The RAM size is not yet revealed in this leak, but we expect it to be huge if the company is calling the device a “Flagship Killer”. The Redmi K20 series will come with LPDDR4X type of RAM and UFS 2.1 internal storage.
The community expects Redmi to announce the new smartphones very soon. Since Redmi is immensely popular in India, we expect the k20 to be priced extremely competently relative to the market. We already know how the retail box and official case of the Redmi K20 series will look like. Rumors suggest that the K20 and K20 Pro will come in Carbon Black, Glacier Blue, and Flame Red color schemes.
