OnePlus has recently announced that it will be launching the new OnePlus 7 flagship series on 14 May 2019. The closer we get to the release date of the highly-anticipated flagship smartphone series, more and more rumors and leaks surface around the internet which reveal key details about the smartphones. Within this month, we have received the details of the display and camera of the OnePlus 7 Pro and 7 Pro 5g. Today, a leak revealed new details about the smartphones that were unknown before.
According to the latest leak, the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro smartphones will be offered in three different variants based on storage size and main memory. One variant will have 6 GB of RAM with 128 GB of internal storage, the second variant features 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB storage and the final variant will come with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. Although 6 GB of RAM is more than enough to run Android Pie (Android version 9.0) with ease, the extra 2 GB it would be much appreciated. The 12 GB variant, however, is like a future-proof device which will be able to withstand for years.
This goes without saying that all three of these variants of both of the smartphones will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest and greatest, the Snapdragon 855 SoC (System on a Chip). The leak has also confirmed earlier rumors that the OnePlus 7 will feature a 6.4” FHD+ display screen while the 7 Pro will come with a 6.7” QHD+ screen with a 90 Hz refresh rate. We think that the primary reason for the 90 Hz refresh rate should be gaming.
Previous rumors and leaks claimed that the OnePlus 7 will have a 48 MP + 24 MP dual-camera setup at the back but the new leak says that the base variant of the OnePlus 7 series will come with a 5 MP depth sensor instead of the 24 MP secondary camera. The details regarding the selfie camera of the OP 7 haven’t been revealed but the leak says that the 7 Pro will come with a 16 MP snapper.
The OnePlus 7 Pro is said to feature a 4,000 mAh battery which will be capable of 30W Warp Charge fast charging. The base version in the 7 series packs a 3,600 mAh battery with 20W fast charging support.
Both of the smartphones are going to be offered in 3 color schemes: Blue, Grey, and Brown. Apparently, OnePlus hasn’t decided to choose fancy color scheme names.
This leak has also reconfirmed that the third device in the series will be named OnePlus 7 Pro 5G. The 7 Pro 5G will have the same features and design as the 7 Pro and the main difference will be 5 G connectivity. We could expect some minor changes like a different storage variant but there will not be any major differences between the two devices.
