OnePlus 7 has become one of the most highly-anticipated smartphones this year. This has largely been due to the immense success of the OnePlus 6T. Just like any other highly-anticipated smartphone, the upcoming OnePlus 7 series has also become the target of countless rumors and leaks since the last few months. The latest leak regarding the smartphone series revealed the camera details of the OnePlus 7 Pro.
The 7 Pro will come with a triple-lens camera set up at the back with a mighty 48 MP primary camera sensor. The sensor will be accompanying an 8 MP telephoto camera which is capable of 3x zoom and has f/2.4 aperture. The focal length of the secondary camera has not been revealed by this leak. We are expecting that it will be near 80mm because that’s as high as a non-periscope lens can usually go. The final camera in the array is a 16 MP sensor with an f/2.2 ultra-wide angle lens filtering the light rays. The third camera will have a 117-degree field of view.

If the information revealed by this leak is true, then this type of camera setup will be a first for a OnePlus smartphone. The same leak has revealed that the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G will be based mostly on the OnePlus 7 Pro with the main difference being that the 7 Pro 5G will be capable of connecting to the revolutionary 5G networks that have launched this year. A few small differences might be there but the 5G connection capability will be the most significant one.
The OnePlus 7 – the base variant device in the series – will come with a dual-lens camera set up at the back which will consist of a 48 MP primary sensor like the one used as the primary snapper in the OnePlus 7 Pro. The secondary camera sensor in the array will be a 25 MP snapper. This information has been revealed by Ishan Agarwal. Our best guess is that the primary sensor is fitted with a wide angle lens while the supporting sensor will be an ultra-wide angle lens. According to the information revealed by Ishan Agarwal, the vanilla OnePlus 7 will come with a display panel with a 90Hz refresh rate.
Of course, none of the information revealed by these two sources can be treated as completely authentic as none of it has been officially revealed or confirmed by the company. The sources are pretty legit and we believe that the information is probably correct. We will know for sure when the series is officially unveiled by the company. It is worth mentioning that Ishan Agarwal’s tweet has been deleted at the time of writing.
OnePlus has announced that the company will reveal its launch plans for the OnePlus 7 tomorrow. The sources of this leak have said that the 7 series will launch globally on May 22. Also, the sources have claimed that T-Mobile will open pre-orders for the OnePlus 7 smartphones on May 14 which means that the smartphone’s details will be officially released before that date.
