A batch of renders was leaked recently which revealed the design of what we believed to be the OnePlus 7 Pro flagship. The images revealed that the upcoming OnePlus flagship will look a lot like the OnePlus 6T. The images in the recent renders contradicted to the ones we had seen almost a month earlier. The source of the latest renders revealed that those images were of the OnePlus 7 Pro flagship.
This is very significant because the latest batch of renders does not feature a popup selfie camera while the images we saw a month earlier featured a smartphone with a popup front camera. This may sound confusing, so let us make it simple for you: OnePlus will be releasing the OnePlus 7 as the base version in the series and there will be significant differences that will make them both recognizable. One of the major differences is the addition of a popup selfie camera on the OnePlus 7 Pro flagship. The source of this latest batch of renders has also revealed some other major differences between the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro flagship smartphones.

The OnePlus 7 will come with a 6.4” display panel with a U-shaped water drop notch on the top where the selfie camera is placed. The camera setup on the back of the OnePus 7 will consist of two snappers: a 48 MP primary sensor being supported by another less-powerful sensor whose details are not yet revealed.
The OnePlus 7 Pro, on the other hand, will feature a 6.6” display pane which doesn’t have a notch on the top. The display will have round edges and the front side of the smartphone will have a large screen-to-body ratio. The top-tier 7 Pro flagship smartphone will feature a triple-senor camera set up at the back with 48 MP primary sensor and two other snappers supporting the image quality. The other two sensors are more likely to be an ultra-wide angle lens and a telephoto lens.
According to the source who revealed the latest batch of renders and also leaked a number of other details about the smartphone, the OnePlus 7 series will feature three smartphones but there won’t be a OnePlus 7T. Instead, the third smartphone in the flagship series will be the 7 Pro 5G. The 7 Pro 5G, as the name suggests, will come with support for the revolutionary 5G networks.
The capability to be able to connect to 5G networks will, without any doubt, be enabled by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X50 modem which is currently the most popular choice for a 5G modem among the most tech giants around the globe.
We are expecting that other than the 5G connection capability the 7 Pro 5G will not be much different than the OnePlus 7 Pro. There could be an upgrade in the memory department but other than that, both the flagship smartphones should be pretty much equal with 5G-connection capability as the biggest difference.
