Last Updated On: January 19, 2017

Most of the time when we snap any picture using our android mobile, camera shutter sound automatically sounds. When you click photo publicly, it’s okay but its not good practice when we are in a meeting room or hospitals. Because there is too much silence and camera shutter sound create clicky noise that seems odd. I always use silent mode while clicking any pictures; it will disturb nobody. Disable Camera Shutter on Android You may also disable camera shutter sound from camera setting option.

But some of the Android devices have not such facility to disable that camera sound. There is an alternate way to disable camera shutter sound on such Android devices. All devices have a different way to disable camera click sound.

Putting Android Device on Silent Mode: This is the best way to stop that clicky noise. But there is a disadvantage, say you might not get any notification for your incoming calls, SMS, etc.

Using Camera Apps for Android: There are some Android apps available in Google Play Store to make camera sound off. They are Silent Camera, Spy Camera OS,  VolShutter Camera, Note 2 Hidden Settings, Quiet Camera, etc.

Setting For Rooted Android Devices: Samsung like devices don’t allow a user to make their camera silent, so the best way is to root the device and use the following setting to disable the Camera Sound from Android device permanently.

1. Must have root access.
2. Download Root Explorer or another file manager like ES file explorer that help you to open root folder
3. Navigate to system -> media -> audio -> UI
4. Tap Mount R/W at the top
5. Scroll down to Shutter.ogg and rename it to Shutter.ogg.bak
6. Rename Shutter_multiple.ogg to Shutter_multiple.ogg.bak

Now the shutter sound Camera Noises is gone. Please use this at your responsibility. If you are using any other trick to make your camera click silent, feel free to share it with us.
