The Black Shark 2 Gaming Smartphone caught a lot of attention in the smartphone industry when it was first announced in March. Things got even better for the new smartphone when it earned the Bureau of Indian Standards Certification (BIS) recently and let the industry know that it will be coming to India too. Black Shark has started sending out invites to its launch event in India which will be held on 27 May 2019.

The Black Shark 2 will not be the only gadget about to be sold by the company in India. According to recent reports, Black Shark will also be launching mobile gaming peripherals in the Indian smartphone market. These peripherals will include the popular Gamepad 2.0 controller too. However, the company hasn’t spoken officially on the topic as of now.

The Black Shark 2 will obviously be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset. The Snapdragon 855 is the latest and the most powerful flagship SoC created by Qualcomm. Three options will be available in terms of main memory and internal storage: one with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage, one with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage, and one with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. Considering the fact that the top flagships this year are being offered with 8 GB of RAM, the Black Shak 2 variant with 12 GB of RAM will be an absolute beast in terms of performance and multitasking.

Black Shark 2: A Worthy Gaming Phone For India

The smartphone will come with a 6.39” Super AMOLED display capable of FHD+ display resolutions. A dual camera setup is placed vertically on the top right corner at the rear of the device. The setup includes a 48 MP primary sensor and a 12 MP supporting unit. We expect the 12 MP to be either an ultra-wide camera or a telephoto one.

The Black Shark 2 will sport a 4,000 mAh battery which may or may not be capable of being fast charged. Black Shark has not revealed any information regarding the charging technology being used in the smartphone. Finally, the smartphone will feature a vapor chamber cooling system to keep the device extremely cooler than usual. The cooling system will allegedly lower the chipset temperature by 14 degrees Celsius.

The pricing of the Black Shark 2 is quite interesting. After all the features we just mentioned, the phone will cost CNY 3,200. This is equivalent to about INR 32,500 according to the exchange rates at press time. While the company will set different price tags in both countries, we expect them to be almost equal in value. If that was true, then the gaming smartphone is quite a catch in both the countries. It is also worth noting that the Indian market doesn’t have a lot of gaming phones in it. It will be interesting to see how the Black Shark 2 does in the Indian market.
