How To Use a Google Android Phone as a Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot

If you have android smartphone and you wish to access internet on your laptop using your smartphone as wireless WiFi hotspot. If you’ve got a smartphone then it’s possible to turn your handset into a portable Wi-Fi hotspot using your device’s 3G connection to access the web, it’s called ‘tethering’.

Turn your handset into a Wi-Fi hotspot

Step 1: Go to setting menu from home screen.It should be lookalike as shown in first image screenshot.

Step 2: Select Wireless & Networks and then Tethering & portable hotspot.

Step 3 : Tick the box next to Portable Wi-Fi hotspot.

Step 4 : Tap Portable Wi-Fihotspot settings and edit the Wi-Fi network name, and choose a password of your choice.

Now its ready to use. Open your PC or laptop, search available WiFi networks and it will shows your android devices in the list. Choose the network, add your password you just added to your device’s setting and start browsing internet on your laptop or PC.
